Balboa provides a real challenge for mid to high handicap golfers. Balboa was designed by William P. Bell & Sons and opened in 1954 as the Sepulveda North Course. Balboa Municipal Golf Course was the first golf course to be built as part of the 36-hole Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area complex which also includes the Encino Municipal Golf Course. The charming tree lined golf course was lengthened by Steve Timm in 2008. |

Local Rules
- Out of Bounds - Defined by white stakes on right side of holes #1, 2, 3, 16, left side of holes #8, 9, 12, 13, back of greens on holes #1, 2, 9, 18 and perimeter fence on #10 & 11.
- Immovable Obstructions - If in bounds, paved cart paths,
cement drainage ditches, staked trees (their basins and support
wires) that interfere with stance or swing, drop within one
club length of point of nearest relief, no nearer hole.
NO PENALTY. - Ball on wrong green, alternate green, wrong tee, or defined
flower beds MUST be dropped within one club length of
point of nearest relief, no nearer hole.
NO PENALTY. - Only stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions.
NO PENALTY.
